Introduction programme for international students
Zuyd offers a two day introduction programme to welcome international students in August. Participation is free. The activities and events will enable you to meet fellow students and staff, have lots of fun, familiarize yourself not only with Zuyd but also with the city of Maastricht and introduce you to the Dutch culture. International Office
Zuyd International Office is happy to help you throughout the various application processes for admission and visa, and with coming to live in Maastricht. In addition the International Office provides you with information on scholarship opportunities.
Library
All the campuses of Zuyd have libraries featuring modern computer and study facilities. At the libraries you can consult and borrow books, magazines and audiovisual media. The website of the library provides easy access to several databases.
Study books
Prior to the start of your study, you will receive an e-mail from your study programme, telling you which books are to be purchased. This explains in detail how and where you can buy your books. Some study programmes arrange this through the university’s intranet (Zuydnet). Other programmes will advise you to order your books online, e.g. at Studystore. In this case you will find the order form for your study programme on the Studystore site.
Online learning and IT facilities
The facilities at Zuyd are geared to the demands of a modern student. Online, flexible learning environments and excellent IT facilities are available. Moodle is Zuyd's e-learning environment. It contains online information and teaching material, categorized by course or study programme. All of our buildings feature computer work stations with fast internet access. You will also have access to a Wi-Fi network, a computer account with a personal e-mail address, storage capacity for your personal files and printing facilities.
Audiovisual equipment
During your study you will have to prepare many presentations, conduct interviews, make video recordings etc. On certain conditions you can borrow audiovisual equipment, e.g. laptop computers, multimedia projectors, video cameras, at the Servicedesk.
Restaurants
At all our campuses you will find restaurants and cafetarias, operated by a 'Glocal Kitchen' concept, meaning 'Cook global eat local'. Ingredients bought from local suppliers. Vending machines for hot and cold drinks and snacks can be found throughout all the Zuyd buildings.
Transport and parking facilities
All of our campuses can be easily accessed by public transport. There are bus stops near our buildings with regular bus services. At some of our campuses a € 1.15 fee is charged at the car park. For € 5 you can buy a parking card. Extra amounts can be charged to this card through your own debit card. Bicycles, mopeds and scooters can be parked in our free bike-parking facilities.
