Our Dutch-taught programmes

Fine Arts

Known in Dutch as: Autonome Beeldende Kunst en Vormgeving

Astonishment provides for an entirely pure perception. If you understand the art of astonishment, you’re in a position to see the world with other eyes and make new discoveries. That is the basis of the creativity of art. During the Fine Arts programme, you’re stimulated to astonish yourself and challenged to discover all your talents. Naturally, you also learn to work with a large number of materials and techniques, among them the new media. So you get broad insight into the illustrative possibilities of 2D-, 3D- and 4D-design.

Communication and Multimedia Design

Known in Dutch as: Communication and Multimedia Design

At the Communication and Multimedia Design programme, we dive into the world of virtual reality, apps, and websites. You might design an app that helps students find housing, or bring history to life with a museum game. We’ll develop your creative and technical skills and create innovative solutions that help organisations and their audiences.

Fine Art and Design in Education

Known in Dutch as: Docent Beeldende Kunst en Vormgeving

You enjoy working with images and thinking in shapes, materials, and ideas. During the Teacher of Fine Arts and Design programme, you’ll learn to use your creativity to inspire and guide others. You’ll develop into both a teacher and an artist, with a strong awareness of social issues.

The programme combines art and pedagogy. You’ll develop your own style and vision, and gain experience both in schools and in other contexts such as museums or local communities. You’ll learn to teach diverse groups and design educational concepts.

In the first year, you’ll follow a broad foundation together with students from other art programmes. After that, you’ll choose your own direction, do internships, and explore your role as both teacher and artist. After graduation, you can work in education, at cultural institutions, or as an independent art educator.

Design | Visual Communication

Known in Dutch as: Vormgeving | Visuele Communicatie

Everything revolves around telling a story - but how do you do that? Why do you tell a story, how do you convey it, through which medium, and who do you want to reach? As a designer, you translate ideas into powerful visual messages that immediately make an impact. Often, that’s far more effective than words - because one image says more than a thousand words.

Our motto: learning by doing.
You’ll dive straight into practice, working on assignments directly from the professional field. You’ll work individually or in teams on real-world challenges from real clients. In this way, you’ll not only develop your skills, but also build a portfolio - and gain experience that will stay with you for life.

Design

Known in Dutch as: Vormgeving | Design

Artist, designer, researcher, or teacher - during the Design programme, we’ll help you discover which path suits you best. In the first year, you’ll take classes together with students from three art programmes: Fine Arts, Teacher of Fine Arts and Design, and Design. Together, you’ll think, create, and experiment — getting to know each other and the world around you.

From the second year onward, you’ll choose your own direction and develop specialised knowledge and skills. One thing remains the same: you’ll keep working on your creative vision in an environment that gives you the freedom to grow and experiment.
